A user opens the login page of a website. Let's quickly go through a common login flow for a website to understand what happens behind the scenes. This lets the server know that all requests originate from the same user, thus allowing the site to display user-specific information and preferences. Imagine if you had to type your username and password on every page that displayed your profile information! Yes, it would be cumbersome and not practical at all, and that's where sessions come into the picture.Ī session allows you to share information across different pages of a single site or app-thus it helps maintain state. In this model, if you wanted to display user-specific information, you'd have to authenticate a user in each request. The following diagram depicts the HTTP protocol in a nutshell. There's no way for the server to know that each request originated from the same user. So when you access other pages of the same website, the web server interprets each and every request separately, as if they were unrelated to one another. For example, when you access a web page, the server is just responsible for providing the contents of the requested page. The HTTP protocol is a stateless protocol, which means that there's no way a server can remember a specific user between multiple requests. Are you wondering why sessions are needed for a website? To see why sessions are necessary, we have to go back and see how the HTTP protocol is designed to work. A session is a mechanism to persist information across different web pages to identify users as they navigate a site or app.

"In years past, it's been a little bit liberating to say the content of this or the language might be a little bit modern, so we can push the envelope," she says. Hilton says part of the fun for the producers is being able to select plays for the festival that might not be appropriate for the regular Goodspeed season. The book-in-hand readings, produced by Goodspeed's Max Showalter Center for Education in Musical Theatre, are a popular diversion on a winter weekend, especially since there are also packages, which include cabaret entertainment and seminars and workshops with respected industry luminaries. The bulk of their sleuthing takes place in New York City, some of the scripts come over the transom, and some are recommended by colleagues in the biz. On the left side toolbar there is a selection of shape tools to choose from. Step 2 - Crop PNG Image with a Shape Tool If needed, be sure to check out our tutorial on how to resize an image in Inkscape. Now both files are in one document and both were resized to fit on the page. Then we went back over to our document with the PNG, right clicked > Paste. We selected what we wanted then right clicked > Copy. Our chosen file consists of multiple elements in one document. We also opened the SVG file by going to File > Open. You can adjust the settings if needed but we left as is and clicked Ok. When an image is pulled into Inkscape, you will get a “png bitmap image import” window. Alternatively, go to File > Import or drag and drop the image into Inkscape. You can go to File > Open to open the image. Open Inkscape, and, depending on your version, create a new document. Whether opening an image or using drag and drop, there is a step you must follow first. Total_width = dxf_dim(file = "openscaddxf.dxf", name = "total_width") The dimensions can be accessed using the built-in dxf_dim command. The extension automatically adds dimensions to the DXF: layer_name_width and layer_name_height for each layer and total_width and total_height. I know, painful, but once you have the size worked out it's not bad. A workaround for this is to recreate all layers after resizing the document. NOTE: If you change the size of the document in Inkscape the exported DXF will have misplaced objects. Supposedly it exports color to the dxf as well but I don't know if that's supported in openscad. With this Inkscape extension, you can edit/save your design and simply "Save a Copy As" to DXF whenever you want to try it in OpenSCAD. I took all the best parts of at least 3 other DXF output extensions (I lost count!) and added automation for the steps listed above. I had had enough and set out to automate that process. The current steps you need to take to turn an SVG into an OpenSCAD usable DXF are the following:Īfter all that you may use your SVG design in OpenSCAD, but then if you want to edit your design you are faced with two equally unpalatable options: edit the original design and go through the steps again, or edit the DXF directly. The purpose of this thing is to make it easier to take something from Inkscape and use it in OpenSCAD. I'm no pro but I've been able to do what I need with it. UPDATE: Posted version 2 which works well in both Inkscape version 0.91 and 0.48. Zeig mehr each layer named "layername_minx" and so on. So try to avoid super bright, or complex images. In fact, sometimes the point of the background is to lessen distractions. If there's a professional meeting, it probably isn't time to break out a Taylor Swift concert background (which I have and use for informal meetings).Īdditionally, your Zoom backgrounds shouldn't be distracting. However, it's important to remember the tone of the meeting when you're choosing a background.
